The subject of inquiry is catalyst-containing carbon nanostructures.
The object of the work is to refine the synthesis technology of catalyst-containing carbon nanostructures.
The research methods are the arc method of carbon nanostructure synthesis in a liquid phase, scanning and transmission electron microscopy, differential thermal analysis, X-ray phase analysis, spectral photometric analysis.
1. The technology development of carbon nanostructures production, the prepared compounds preparation and the catalyst distribution in them have been studied by physical and chemical methods.
2. The technique of metallic nanoparticle (Pt, Pd, Ni, Y, Gd) deposition on the carbon nanotubes in a liquid medium has been developed.
3. The study of conditions and technique of deposition of Pd-carbon nanocomposites on the protonconducting membrane.
4. The production of fine metalcontaining (Pt, Ni, Y, Gd) nanostructural carbon films on the polymeric protonconducting membranes in the course of investigation.
The obtained results will provide the opportunity of creating an experimental specimen of a catalyst-containing electrode for a fuel cell in which carbon and other materials, as nanotubes, amorphous and nanocrystalline graphite and others, are used as a catalyst carrier.
